WrestleFest 2021

A highlight reel of a wrestling show created for campers at Camp Shalom. The program has run since 2014 and showcases the amateur wrestling styles of my co-staff. I recorded the program for two summers (2019 and 2021) and have learned specific camera techniques which exaggerate the high intensity action of the wrestling. Using the camera as a kind of 'third performer' in the action, I intensify the wrestling moves through constant camera movement which follows the flow of the action (i.e. if the wrestler falls straight down onto the mat, the camera falls with him). In creating the highlight reels for the program, I used my knowledge as a musician to edit the individual wrestling impacts to the beat of a musical accompaniment as a way to further enforce the action.
