Coconut Curry Chicken

Coconut Curry Chicken explores the diasporic messages of Bollywood cinema and expresses the multicultural cuisine found across the world (and more specifically in my kitchen). I created this video to capture the passion and love that my mother puts into her meals for my family, trying new recipes from many different cultures and finding unique dishes for us to enjoy. I tried to evoke a homemade and cozy feeling through the cinematography, music, lighting and editing and create a sense of invitation and warmth - the film also depicts mouth-watering shots of delicious food. This short piece was selected to be part of an exhibit at the Robert Langen Art Gallery in which student projects explore aspects of Bollywood cinema through their own cinematic styles.
