Intergalactic Cuisine

When you think of Star Wars, you may not think of food and drinks, but annually, I celebrate May the 4th by cooking delicious meals from the Galaxy's Edge Cookbook and photographing my creations. Each dish evokes the distinctive style found in the Star Wars universe from rustic stews to oddly coloured drinks and noodles. However, while I focus the attention on the dishes themselves, I also put effort into creating an interesting background and set dressing for each photo. When taking the photos, I think to myself, "What is the look of Star Wars? Is it just a futuristic world?" Yes (in the 'imperial' sense), but the 'Star Wars style' is also rustic and worn down, decrepit from the ongoing wars throughout the galaxy. I created unique sets with wooden props, plants and rough-looking dishes to capture this feeling. Each photo brings a little slice from the galaxy far far away.
